McDonald’s saw a 3% climb on better-than-expected profit and revenue, driven by “Minecraft” movie tie-ins. Shopify surged 22% after exceeding revenue expectations. Arista Networks jumped 17.5% after beating profit forecasts and exceeding revenue expectations for the current quarter.

Super Micro Computer dropped 18.3% after weaker-than-expected profit and revenue reports. Disney fell 2.7% despite beating profit forecasts, disappointing on revenue. NFL announced a nonbinding agreement with ESPN, giving the sports broadcaster rights to NFL Network and RedZone channel.

Advanced Micro Devices fell 6.4% as profit matched analysts’ expectations. S&P 500 rose 45.87 points, Dow Jones added 81.38, and Nasdaq jumped 252.87. Treasury yields held steady, with the 10-year Treasury at 4.22%. Expectations of Federal Reserve rate cuts remain high. Stocks rose modestly in Europe and Asia.
