In China, AUDI has begun production of the electric E5 Sportback, part of a new intelligent electric family developed in partnership with SAIC. The China-only AUDI brand offers pre-orders for the model, with deliveries starting in September. The E5 Sportback boasts high power outputs, a range of 770km, and cutting-edge technology.

A dedicated production facility in Anting, Shanghai, will manufacture AUDI models, with plans for two additional models in the next two years. The E5 Sportback is built on an Advanced Digitized Platform, offering next-generation connected vehicle functionality and over-the-air updates. The production site boasts automation, machine learning for quality control, and digital production management.

AUDI’s new brand for China combines iconic design, premium quality, and cutting-edge technology to deliver an uncompromising experience for Chinese customers. The E5 Sportback offers dynamic driving, with power outputs up to 579 kW and acceleration from 0-100km/h in 3.4 seconds. The car’s innovative features and performance mark the beginning of a new era of Intelligent Connected Vehicles (ICVs).
