B2Gold Corp. (NYSE: BTG) received approval from Mali’s government to start underground mining at the Fekola Mine, following productive meetings with officials earlier in July. The company has already developed over 9,300 meters of underground workings and is now producing ore for processing through the Fekola mill.
The Fekola Complex includes the Fekola Mine, which consists of open pits and an underground mine. B2Gold owns 80% of the mine, with the State holding the remainder. The company expects the Fekola underground to contribute up to 35,000 ounces of gold production in 2025, with further ramp-up in 2026.
B2Gold Corp. is a Canadian gold mining company that operates mines in Mali, the Philippines, and Namibia. It primarily produces gold bullion from open-pit mining operations globally. The company reaffirmed its full-year 2025 gold production guidance for the Fekola Complex at 515,000–550,000 ounces.
