Cathay Pacific has agreed to purchase more GE9X engines from GE Aerospace to power their 777-9 aircraft, raising their total commitment to 35 planes. The deal includes a service agreement for engine maintenance. The GE9X engine is the most powerful and fuel-efficient commercial aircraft engine globally, capable of operating on Sustainable Aviation Fuel blends. Turkish Aerospace Industries also signed an agreement with GE Aerospace to enhance F404 turbofan engines for Türkiye’s HURJET jet trainer.
