Matson reported a decrease in earnings due to U.S. tariffs on China, with expectations that trans-Pacific trade recovery won’t match previous volumes. Revenue for the second quarter was $830.5 million, down from $847.4 million in 2024. Net income also fell to $94.7 million from $113.2 million the year before. Operating income dropped to $113.0 million from $124.6 million, and EBITDA declined to $163.6 million from $171.5 million. Matson saw a decrease in China volumes but an increase in Hawaii and Alaska volumes. The company is adjusting its full-year guidance based on ongoing trade and tariff volatility.
