Corn futures saw gains of 2 to 3 ½ cents on Tuesday, with the national average Cash Corn price at $3.62. The US corn crop is at 97% silking and 72% in the dough stage, slightly behind normal. Crop conditions slipped 1 point to 71% gd/ex.
The ProFarmer crop tour began with Ohio’s crop estimated at 185.69 bpa, higher than last year. South Dakota’s yield was estimated at 174.18 bpa, well above the 3-year average. Brazil’s corn exports for August are projected at 8.05 MMT.
Corn prices are currently at $3.80 for Sep 25 Corn, $3.62 1/1 for Nearby Cash, $4.03 1/4 for Dec 25 Corn, $4.20 3/4 for Mar 26 Corn, and $3.58 1/4 for New Crop Cash. Austin Schroeder has no positions in the mentioned securities.
