Corn prices held steady to a penny lower on Tuesday, with futures seeing gains on Monday. Open interest decreased by 29,200 contracts, with the national average Cash Corn price up to $3.71 ¾. USDA’s Crop Progress report showed 44% of the corn crop dented, with 7% mature and condition ratings at 71% good/excellent.

Export Inspections data revealed 1.305 MMT of corn shipped last week, up 24.12% from the previous week. Mexico and Japan were top destinations. Yearly shipments have increased by 28.23% since September 1. Corn prices closed at $3.89 1/4 for September, $4.12 1/4 for December, and $4.29 3/4 for March.
