Diageo plans to brew Guinness at a new site in County Kildare, starting production in early 2026. Originally projected to produce 2m hectolitres annually, capacity has been doubled to 4.5m hectolitres. The brewery will also produce lager, ale brands, and non-alcoholic Guinness 0.0 for “emerging markets.” St. James’s Gate brewery in Dublin will continue to brew for established markets. Construction began in Littleconnell last year after an environmental complaint was withdrawn. Diageo aims to position for global growth opportunities and strengthen Ireland’s beer export market.
