ExxonMobil Guyana starts production at Yellowtail, its fourth project in the offshore Stabroek block, boosting the country’s oil output. The project includes an FPSO vessel, ONE GUYANA, and aims to commission 26 production wells and 25 injection wells for optimal oil extraction.

The FPSO is the largest in the Stabroek block, capable of producing 250,000 bopd with a storage capacity of 2 mbbl. It will treat 450 million cubic feet of associated gas per day and inject 300,000 barrels of water daily to support reservoir pressure.

By 2030, ExxonMobil Guyana expects combined production from eight developments to reach 1.7 mbbl of oil equivalent per day. The company operates the Stabroek block with a 45% interest, followed by Hess Guyana Exploration with 30% and CNOOC Petroleum Guyana with 25%.

ExxonMobil has been granted exploration rights by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago for an ultra-deep area comprising seven blocks. This marks the company’s return to the country after over 20 years, with the blocks located in waters with depths ranging from 2,000–3,000m, north-west of the Stabroek block.
