Canadian public company Frontera Energy has agreed to sell its 50% working interest in the Perico and Espejo blocks in Ecuador for $7.8m. The deal supports the company’s focus on value maximisation and Colombian upstream operations. Additional contingent payments of $750,000 are possible based on production milestones. Regulatory approvals from Ecuador’s Ministry of Energy are needed for the transaction to close. The blocks currently produce around 1,000 boepd. Frontera Energy is known for oil and gas development in South America. The transaction is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026.
