London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) reported first-half total income of GBP 4.5 billion, up 8% organically. Data and analytics segment grew 5.1%, but annual subscription value growth declined to 5.8%. LSEG is competing with Bloomberg in the terminal business and expects further growth with Microsoft partnership.
LSEG’s markets division had a strong first half, driven by Tradeweb and FTSE Russell’s subscription products. Maintaining a fair value estimate of GBX 11,200 per share, Morningstar sees LSEG’s economic moat intact. Competition in data and analytics is increasing, but LSEG is holding its ground.
