Grocery Outlet Holding Corp. completed its 15th annual Independence from Hunger Food Drive, raising over $5 million to support local food banks. From June 25 to July 31, over 540 Grocery Outlet stores received donations through in-store and online contributions. The USDA reports that 18 million families in the US struggle with food insecurity, highlighting the importance of local food banks. Since its launch in 2011, Independence from Hunger has collected over $30 million in cash and food donations. Customers could support the campaign by making donations in-store, purchasing pre-made grocery bags, or donating online.
