Dell Technologies Inc. will release Q2 earnings after the closing bell on Aug. 28. Analysts expect earnings of $2.29 per share, up from $1.89 per share last year. Dell’s current annual dividend yield is 1.58%, with a quarterly dividend of 53 cents per share ($2.10 annually).
To earn $500 monthly from Dell, an investor would need approximately $378,553 worth of Dell stock, or 2,857 shares. For a more conservative goal of $100 monthly, an investor would need around $75,658 worth of Dell stock, or 571 shares.
The dividend yield is calculated by dividing the annual dividend payment by the current stock price. If the stock price changes, the dividend yield will also change. For example, if a stock pays a $2 annual dividend and the stock price is $50, the dividend yield is 4%.
Dell’s stock price rose 1.2% to close at $132.50 on Wednesday. On Aug. 21, Morgan Stanley analyst Erik Woodring maintained Dell with an Overweight rating and raised the price target from $135 to $144.
