Japan’s exports saw the biggest monthly drop in four years in July, down 2.6% year-on-year. Exports to the U.S. fell 10.1%, with automobiles slumping 28.4%. Despite the value drop, shipment volumes held up, with automobile exports down just 3.2% in volume terms. Japan ran a deficit of 117.5 billion yen in July.
