Loews Corporation reported a second-quarter 2025 net income of $391 million, up from $369 million last year. Total revenue increased to $4.56 billion from $4.27 billion. CNA Financial Corporation contributed $274 million in net income, with core income rising 3% to $335 million.

CNA’s net investment income grew due to a larger asset base, higher reinvestment rates, and favorable returns from partnerships and equities. Net written premiums increased by 6%, while earned premiums rose by 8%. Catastrophe losses decreased to $62 million, improving the combined ratio to 94.1%.

Boardwalk Pipelines posted a net income of $88 million, up from $70 million, with EBITDA rising by 14% to $274 million. Loews Hotels & Co. recorded a net income of $28 million, down from $35 million. The Corporate segment reported a net income of $1 million, compared to a loss of $27 million.

Book value per share for Loews increased to $84.42 from $79.49 at year-end, excluding AOCI it rose to $91.66 from $88.18 as of December 31, 2024. The parent company held $3.4 billion in cash and investments and $1.8 billion in debt. Loews repurchased 2.9 million shares for $251 million in Q2.

Loews shares closed 0.28% lower at $90.29 on Friday.
