Novo Nordisk is offering cash-paying U.S. patients its diabetes treatment Ozempic for $499 per month, less than half the list price. GoodRx will also offer the drug at the same price, aiming to expand access to those without insurance coverage. This move follows pressure to lower drug prices in the country.
President Trump urged drugmakers, including Novo Nordisk, to lower medication prices in the U.S. Novo Nordisk’s efforts with Ozempic and Wegovy aim to provide affordable options and combat cheaper copycat versions. Eli Lilly has also reduced prices for its obesity and diabetes drugs, competing in the market for GLP-1s.
