NRG Energy secured funding for two new natural gas units at its TH Wharton power plant in Texas, part of the Texas Energy Fund Loan Program. The 456 MW capacity units are set to provide power to the Houston load zone by Summer 2026, contributing to over 1.5 GW of new natural gas generation in Texas by 2028.
