Jefferies Chief Market Strategist David Zervos is a top contender to become the next Federal Reserve chair, according to prediction market Kalshi. President Trump is considering 11 candidates, including Zervos, former Fed Governor Larry Lindsey, and Rick Rieder of BlackRock. Zervos’ chances are on par with Kevin Warsh’s.
Kevin Hassett and Kevin Warsh have seen increased odds on prediction markets after Trump praised them on CNBC. Both have advocated for lower interest rates, contrasting with current Fed Chair Jerome Powell’s approach. Fed Governor Chris Waller remains the frontrunner, with Kevin Hassett close behind.
Fed Governor Chris Waller, who was appointed by Trump in 2020, has emerged as a favorite for the Fed chair role. Waller’s willingness to adjust monetary policy based on forecasting rather than current data has garnered attention from Trump’s advisors. He has not yet met with the president directly, according to Bloomberg News.
