PXGEO has secured a two-year contract to provide offshore seismic data acquisition services in Malaysia, marking its first contract in the country. The deal includes a minimum of 365 days of acquisition activity using the company’s PXGEO 2 seismic vessel, with approximately 50 personnel involved in the project.

CEO Charles Davison Jnr highlighted the confidence major energy companies have in PXGEO’s skilled people, performance, and technology. The contract supports Malaysia’s efforts to tap into new hydrocarbon resources and accelerate upstream exploration activities, in line with Malaysia Petroleum Management objectives.

The contract underscores PXGEO’s expanding global portfolio and expertise in enhancing exploration and production efforts. The company will provide several surveys leveraging 2D and 3D towed streamer solutions, with the flexibility to integrate ocean bottom node solutions if needed.

PXGEO’s workforce of 400 employees worldwide, including offices in Dubai, Houston, Paris, Linköping, Oslo, and Rio de Janeiro, will support the project. Winning work in Malaysia with a new client demonstrates the company’s commitment to driving upstream efficiency and unlocking new resource potential.
