Reliance Consumer Products has acquired a majority stake in a joint venture with Naturedge Beverages, focused on herbal-natural beverages. The deal aims to tap into the growing demand for healthier, natural alternatives in the functional beverage sector. Naturedge’s flagship product, Shunya, is a zero-sugar, zero-calorie drink infused with Ayurvedic herbs. The joint venture will leverage Reliance’s distribution network to expand Shunya’s reach nationwide.
In a move to bolster its consumer-facing brands, Reliance Industries announced plans to set up a new subsidiary for its FMCG portfolio. The National Company Law Tribunal approved the restructuring exercise, recognizing the need for specialized attention and capital investments in the consumer brands business. The new subsidiary will transfer the company’s consumer brands from the existing retail arm to attract a different set of investors.
The partnership between Reliance and Naturedge signifies a strategic alignment in offering health-focused functional drinks to consumers. Naturedge, known for its better-for-you drinks inspired by Ayurveda, is set to benefit from Reliance’s distribution and supply chain network. The joint venture aims to turn Shunya into a pan-India brand catering to consumers’ love for herbal-natural functional beverages.
