Rigetti Computing (RGTI) reported a net loss of around $40 million in Q2, with revenue down over 40%, causing shares to drop 8%.
Despite the recent decline, RGTI stock has soared over 100% since April, but CEO Subodh Kulkarni believes quantum technology could become a trillion-dollar market in the future.
Rigetti raised $350 million via a stock offering, clearing its debt but doubling outstanding shares, leading to concerns about dilution and a high P/S ratio of over 480x.
Wall Street doesn’t see much upside in RGTI shares, with a mean target of $17.80 suggesting only a 6.7% potential increase. Peer D-Wave (QBTS) may offer better investment opportunities in quantum technology.
