Fintech firm SoFi Technologies partners with Lightspark to enable blockchain-based international money transfers within the SoFi app. Users will receive exchange rates and fees upfront. Funds are converted from US dollars to Bitcoin, transferred via the Lightning Network, then converted back to local currency upon arrival. Initially available for transfers to Mexico, with plans for expansion to more countries. Later integration with SoFi Checking & Savings planned.
