Under Armour Inc. shares dropped 17.2% after reporting a net loss of $3 million and a 4% revenue decline in the first quarter. Footwear sales were down 14% to $266 million. Allbirds Inc. saw a 29.3% decrease in shares and lowered its revenue guidance for the year. Other shoe firms and retailers also experienced declines. Crocs Inc. beat Wall Street expectations with adjusted earnings but projected a revenue decline of 9-11% for the third quarter. CEO Andrew Rees is eyeing “bold decisions” for growth. The company is reintroducing products and focusing on key items in stock for better order fulfillment. Allbirds Inc. is launching new products monthly and introducing marketing content weekly. They introduced an improved version of their best-selling style and are planning to launch a waterproof collection and other new styles for the autumn. They are also partnering with Blumaka and Circ for circularity and developing new sustainable materials for the future.
