Theon International Plc (THEON) has acquired Kappa Optronics GmbH (KAPPA) for €75 million, financed through debt and IPO proceeds. KAPPA, based in Germany, specializes in aviation and land optronics, with 60 engineers and around 200 employees. The acquisition is expected to boost revenue to over €37 million in FY 2025, with an EBITDA of €8 million, driven by defense mobility. THEON plans to provide guidance for FY 2026 in October, anticipating growth from business development initiatives. The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and supported by PwC and Bird & Bird. CEO Christian Hadjiminas sees the acquisition as strategic, strengthening THEON’s presence in Germany and expanding electro-optics offerings.
