Tilaknagar Industries invests Rs250m to expand Prag Distillery in Andhra Pradesh, India, increasing bottling capacity from 600,000 to 3.6m cases yearly. Expected completion in 12 months. The expansion aims to meet growing demand for brands like Mansion House Brandy in the state.

The investment was announced with Tilaknagar’s first quarter results showing net revenue of Rs4m, up 30.6%. Profit after tax excluding exceptional items rose 120.8% to Rs8.9m. EBITDA increased 88% to Rs945m. The company expects the expansion to generate value and job opportunities in the growing liquor market.

Tilaknagar recently acquired Pernod Ricard’s Imperial Blue whisky business for an enterprise value of €412.6m, expanding its portfolio. The company aims to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities and meet the demand for their brands through this strategic investment in Andhra Pradesh.
