Italian construction company Webuild S.p.A. has secured a 1.6 billion euro contract to develop the Salerno-Reggio Calabria railway line, focusing on the Paola-Cosenza doubling section. The project, in partnership with Ghella, Pizzarotti, and SELI, will include building a new tunnel and improving rail capacity in Calabria. It aims to reduce travel time between Rome and Reggio Calabria from five hours to three hours and 40 minutes, boosting economic growth and tourism in southern Italy. Webuild’s stock is up 2.27% on the Milan Stock Exchange.
