Wendy’s Company (NASDAQ: WEN) shares are trading higher on Friday after reporting second-quarter adjusted earnings per share of 29 cents, beating the consensus estimate of 26 cents. Quarterly sales of $560.929 million outpaced the Street view of $560.363 million. Adjusted revenues fell 1.3% to $449.6 million. Operating profit jumped 4.8% to $104.3 million, primarily due to decreased advertising spend. Adjusted EBITDA increased 2.5% to $146.6 million. The company exited the quarter with cash and equivalents worth $450.512 million. Wendy’s trimmed its fiscal year 2025 adjusted EPS outlook to 82 cents–89 cents, below the consensus estimate of 95 cents. Adjusted EBITDA is expected in the range of $505 million to $525 million, and global systemwide sales growth is expected to decline in the range of 5%-3%. The company also announced a quarterly cash dividend of 14 cents per share. WEN shares are trading higher by 2.36% to $10.20 at last check on Friday.
