British advertising major WPP plc reported a sharp decline in profit in the first half, with revenues also weakening. The company reduced its interim dividend and maintained its fiscal 2025 outlook. Profit before taxation fell 71 percent to 98 million pounds, and earnings per share dropped 78.7 percent to 4.0 pence. Revenue decreased 7.8 percent to 6.66 billion pounds, with revenue less pass-through costs down 10.2 percent. The Board declared an interim dividend of 7.5 pence. Looking ahead, WPP expects a decline in operating profit margin and revenue for fiscal 2025. WPP shares on the LSE were down 4.8 percent.
