US canned water producer Liquid Death secured a “seven-figure” investment from 4th & 1 Ventures, a venture-capital firm. Liquid Death, known for its unique marketing, was the recipient of the firm’s first seven-figure cheque. The investment group also backs other drinks brands like Slate Milk and Nowadays.

Liquid Death, launched in 2019, expanded into flavored sparkling waters and iced teas. In 2020, the company raised $67m in funding, valuing it at $1.4bn with $263m in retail sales in 2024. However, reports surfaced earlier this year that the company had halted international operations due to slowing growth.

In a move to diversify its product line, Liquid Death announced plans to launch Sparkling Energy drinks in the US early next year. The CEO emphasized that the energy drinks would be sugar-free, without artificial sweeteners, and have a moderate caffeine content. The company aims to enter the competitive energy drinks market.

4th & 1 Ventures, a group of over 40 investors, focuses on connecting passionate entrepreneurs with investors in the consumer packaged goods and sports technology industries. The firm leverages the influence of top athletes and business executives to support growth-stage companies. Liquid Death’s recent investment adds to the firm’s diverse portfolio.
