FTX’s bankruptcy estate is releasing $1.6 billion to creditors at the end of September, marking the third major payout since the crypto exchange’s collapse three years ago. U.S. customer claims will receive 40%, “Dotcom” customers will get 6%, and general unsecured claims will see 24% in the latest distribution. Earlier rounds have already returned over $6 billion to creditors, part of the effort to recover assets for users after FTX’s downfall in 2022. Founder and CEO Sam Bankman-Fried is currently serving a 25-year sentence after being convicted of fraud and conspiracy.
