Capital One Financial is cutting 382 jobs at Discover Financial Services’ Chicago-area headquarters, citing integration efforts. The layoffs will occur in phases, with the first wave expected on Nov. 17, affecting 366 employees, and the final round in early March 2026. Roles affected do not include customer-facing positions.

The job cuts impact Discover employees holding 215 different job titles, with about 200 located in Riverwoods, Illinois. Roles affected span a wide range, including Discover’s chief marketing officer, Jennifer Murillo. The Riverwoods location will remain open, with business operations continuing as usual.

Capital One declined to disclose the exact percentage of Discover’s workforce impacted by the cuts. Following the closure of Discover Home Loans, which led to 215 job losses, Capital One announced the elimination of more positions as part of its integration efforts. The company is providing affected employees with at least 60 days’ notice and comprehensive career transition support.
