European stocks traded higher on Friday despite U.S. President Donald Trump’s latest tariff threats. The pan European Stoxx 600 rose by 0.2 percent, rebounding from a 0.7 percent decline the previous day. The German DAX and France’s CAC 40 also saw gains, while the U.K.’s FTSE 100 increased by half a percent. Shares in Brunello Cucinelli dropped 4.4 percent following accusations of misleading shareholders about its Russia operations. Volvo shares rose by 2.8 percent, while Daimler Truck and Traton declined after Trump proposed a 25 percent tariff on heavy trucks. Pharma stocks like AstraZeneca and Roche remained relatively stable.
