GlobalFoundries announced a collaboration with Egis Technology to deliver new direct time-of-flight sensors on GF’s 55nm platform at its annual Technology Summit in Shanghai. The FSI SPAD device features high performance for smart mobile, IoT, and automotive applications. Egis first partnered with GF in 2022 to enter the 3D sensor market. The new sensor technology enables laser-assisted auto focus, presence detection, and collision avoidance. The 55nm SPAD is available for mass production in Singapore, with a process design kit for designers. GF is committed to advancing smart sensing technologies for the future.
