Google has added visual results to its AI Mode search tool, allowing users to receive images along with written responses. This feature is especially helpful for shopping or design ideas. Users can now request specific visuals like “maximalist inspo for my bedroom” or “bolder prints and dark tones.”
The update combines Google Search, Lens, and Image tools from its Gemini 2.5 model. Users can now ask for shoppable images directly linked to retailers, such as “Barrel jeans that aren’t too baggy.” Google’s move is in response to competitors like Microsoft and OpenAI, who have changed online information searching with ChatGPT’s launch in 2022.
