CSX Corp. announced Steve Angel as president and CEO, effective Sept. 28. Angel, former CEO of Linde, succeeds Joe Hinrichs. Hinrichs hosted a media event for the Howard Street tunnel reopening before the change. Hinrichs was popular but CSX’s stock price struggled. Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern announced an $85 billion merger. Berkshire Hathaway won’t merge with CSX. Angel’s appointment aims to drive growth and value for shareholders.
