Josh Harris, managing partner of the Washington Commanders, signed a new stadium deal in Washington, D.C. Harris, co-founder of Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment, owns stakes in various sports teams, making HBSE one of the most valuable sports ownership groups. While public sports team ownership is rare, Harris believes private valuations exceed public ones.

Harris secured a $3.7 billion deal to move the Commanders to Washington, D.C. He believes public markets don’t embrace long-term team investment. The NFL approved private equity firms to invest in franchises, allowing owners to focus on city, fan support, and league growth without typical private equity control.
