British mining company Kodal Minerals has secured an export permit for spodumene concentrate from its Bougouni lithium project in Mali, allowing the export of 125,000 tonnes initially. The permit includes pricing mechanisms, local transportation contracts, and tax obligations, crucial for project development and Mali’s spodumene industry.

Kodal Minerals had faced regulatory challenges in exporting concentrate from Bougouni earlier this year. The company’s CEO, Bernard Aylward, emphasized the significance of the export license in advancing the project and the country’s spodumene sector, highlighting ongoing government support.

Kodal has finalized an offtake agreement for the project and signed a transport contract with a Malian company for material shipment to Côte d’Ivoire. The company ensures compliance with all financial obligations, including taxes, duties, and levies, as per the agreement and relevant laws for the project’s success.
