The LCV market showed growth in August 2025, with BCA reporting an average value of £7,892, up £955 from the previous year. Performance against guide price expectations rose by two percentage points to 107.6%, with over 8,500 LCVs sold in a traditionally quieter trading month.

BCA saw participation from more than 2,500 buyers, with year-to-date average LCV values at £7,974 aligning with 103.8% of price guide expectations. COO Stuart Pearson praised buyer engagement and rising values, with online sales running seven days a week to meet buyer needs and drive stronger results.

In the used car sector, BCA experienced a strong trading month in August, with average values reaching £7,357. Despite a slight dip in corporate stock volumes, sold volumes remained robust, with strong buyer engagement through BCA’s online platform.

Car supermarkets maintained a leading position in the market, facing competition from franchise dealer group buyers looking to bolster inventory levels. The overall outlook suggests a potential strengthening of the used LCV market as we head into autumn.
