Meta Platforms Inc. has launched a new super PAC, the American Technology Excellence Project, to counter state-level AI and tech policy proposals harmful to U.S. innovation. The company plans to invest tens of millions into the initiative. The super PAC will focus on electing state candidates from both parties who support AI development and U.S. tech leadership. Meta says over 1,100 state-level tech policy bills have been introduced this year. The group will emphasize defending U.S. technology companies, advocating AI progress, and giving parents control over children’s online and AI use. This move follows similar actions from other tech players, including a $100 million PAC backed by Andreessen Horowitz and OpenAI president Greg Brockman.
