Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha (9101.T, NPNYY, NYUKF) has signed a memorandum of understanding with Neptune Robotics to expand their partnership on robotic hull cleaning. This collaboration is aimed at boosting fuel efficiency and cutting emissions across the company’s global fleet, generating further savings and carbon reductions. The company also joined Neptune’s $52 million Series B funding round led by Granite Asia to scale adoption globally. Neptune’s AI-powered robots have delivered up to 10x fuel savings compared to traditional cleaning methods, operating faster and more efficiently in both clear and murky waters. Nippon Yusen Kabushiki Kaisha’s stock is currently trading 1.02% lower at JPY 5,165 on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
