Perseus Mining has received a presidential decree allowing the development and operation of the CMA underground project at the Yaouré Gold Mine in Côte d’Ivoire. The underground operation will extend the mine’s lifespan until at least 2035. Infrastructure works are complete, and mining equipment commissioning is underway. First ore production is targeted for January 2026, with commercial production slated for March 2027. The Presidential Decree follows environmental and social impact assessments. Perseus CEO Jeff Quartermaine sees the $170m investment in the project as a step towards expanding the mining industry in Côte d’Ivoire.
