Indian shares opened strong after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced significant GST rate cuts, effective September 22. Majority of items now fall under 5% and 18% slabs, including breads and paneer facing nil tax. BSE Sensex up 670 points at 81,236, NSE Nifty index jumped 203 points to 24,918. Top gainers include Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Finance, and Trent. Poly Medicure surged 2% with acquisition deal, BHEL rose on Rs. 2,600 crore Letter of Intent, RailTel Corporation secured Rs 14.94 crore order. Swiggy’s platform fee increased to Rs 15 per order.
