Siemens Mobility is investing €35m in a new battery system facility in Luhe-Wildenau, Germany. The project will create a modular battery family and employ up to 200 people. The factory is expected to be operational by spring 2027, producing up to 120MW of battery capacity annually. Toshiba will supply battery cells for the systems. Bavarian Economic Affairs State Minister Hubert Aiwanger believes the project will benefit the region and strengthen Bavaria’s economy.
