Analysts forecast Brazil’s crude oil output to reach 5 million barrels per day by 2030, driven by substantial investment from Petrobras.
Argentina has emerged as a leading South American oil producer, overtaking Colombia to become the continent’s third-largest oil producer. The Vaca Muerta shale formation has significantly boosted Argentina’s oil and natural gas output, with production regularly hitting record highs. Analysts forecast Argentina will pump at least one million barrels of crude oil per day by 2030.
Brazil, Argentina, and Guyana are positioned to become significant global energy players, driving considerable production growth by the end of the decade. Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras has allocated $77 billion for investment in exploration and production operations, with a focus on pre-salt assets. Argentina’s national oil company YPF intends to invest $35.7 billion between 2025 and 2030 to boost its net hydrocarbon production to one million barrels daily by 2030.
