Soybean prices closed lower despite a tighter stocks total, with contracts down 8 to 9 ½ cents. The national average Cash Bean price was $9.25. Soymeal futures fell $1.60 to $2.40/ton, and Soy Oil futures were down 20 to 33 points. NASS reported 316 mbu of soybeans on hand as of September 1, 9 mbu lower than expected, with production raised to 4.374 bbu. In the US, 19% of soybeans have been harvested, with condition ratings improving to 62% good/excellent. Argentina soybean production is estimated at 48.5 MMT, while Brazilian soybean exports are estimated at 7.13 MMT for September.
