Soybean futures saw little buying after President Trump’s call with China’s President Xi, closing with losses of 10 to 12 cents. The national average cash bean price dropped 11 3/4 cents to $9.49 1/4. Managed money increased net long positions by 2,287 contracts. President Trump and President Xi discussed trade, with plans to meet at the APEC meeting in late October. Taiwan agreed to buy $10 billion of US ag goods over 4 years, including corn, soybeans, wheat, and beef. Weekly export sales data shows soybean export commitments at 10.277 MMT. Soybean futures closed at $10.25 1/2 for Nov 25.
