The Nasdaq hit a new intraday high of 21,885.62 before dipping slightly, still up 0.8% and poised to surpass its Aug. 13 closing record of 21,713.14.

Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 0.4%, propped up by gains from Broadcom, Lam Research, Palantir Technologies, Nvidia, and other AI-related stocks; however, around 318 stocks in the index were in the red for the day.
