The U.S. SEC moved to dismiss its case against Trevor Milton, former CEO of Nikola, accused of falsely claiming the company developed technology in-house. Milton, pardoned by Trump, waived legal costs and released claims against the agency. Nikola’s stock plummeted after accusations of deceiving investors, leading to bankruptcy and asset sale in February. Milton was convicted of securities fraud in 2022 and sentenced to four years in prison in 2023.
