Wison New Energies has secured an EPCIC contract with TPAO for a floating production unit in the Sakarya gas field. The FPU will enhance Türkiye’s gas production capacity and energy mix optimization. It is designed for challenging deep-water conditions and aims for a gas export rate of 25 million standard cubic meters per day.

The Sakarya gas field, holding 405 billion cubic meters of gas reserves, is Türkiye’s largest natural gas discovery. The field’s development in three phases by TPAO aligns with the national energy strategy to boost self-sufficiency, reduce gas imports, and increase domestic supply capacity. The FPU is crucial for Phase 3 development.

Wison New Energies’ chairman emphasizes the collaboration’s significance in advancing deep-water engineering capabilities and supporting Türkiye’s energy goals. The partnership with TPAO marks a milestone in Wison’s internationalization strategy and showcases its innovative floating solutions for the energy sector. The FPU is expected to have a 30-year design life.
