Yakult Honsha, a fermented milk drinks maker, has established a European R&D unit in the Netherlands with a €3.7m investment. The new centre, located on Wageningen Campus, aims to be a global hub for food innovation, addressing diverse consumer needs and regulatory requirements. Yakult products in Europe are made in various countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, UK, Germany, Austria, and Italy. The company also plans to merge its Austrian branch with Yakult Oesterreich. Despite a drop in net sales and operating profit, Yakult is focused on evolving into a truly global enterprise through its new R&D framework.
